Six plexi ballot boxes, three egg crates, recycled paper "ballots," laser printed wallpaper, moveable walls, Brooklyn Museum visitors
48"x 72" x 36" each of the three REFERENDUM installations
[REFERENDUM was installed in two locations in the Brooklyn Museum, polling visitors to the Museum's lobby with, “Do you call yourself a ‘feminist’?” and "Do you believe in equal rights for women?" and then visitors to the Brooklyn Museum's Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art with the question, “Do political movements bearing the same name have to retain some of their predecessors’ principles in order to be visible in their contemporary moment?”
